Distinguished Talent stream
This pathway is for internationally recognised talented and skilled applicants with the proven record of achievements working in other sectors.
To be eligible for this stream an applicant must meet the following criteria:
- have an internationally recognised record of exceptional and outstanding achievements in one of the following fields:
- a profession
- a sport
- the arts
academia and research
- you are an expert in your field of specialization
- you would be an asset to the Australian community
- you can show that you would have no difficulty in obtaining employment in Australia or establish a business in the field of their expertise
- you must be nominated by an Australian organisation or individual with a national reputation in your area of expertise
- Meet health and character requirement
Application process for Distinguished Talent stream
An invitation is not required to apply for the Distinguished Talent stream and if the applicant meets all the above criteria and has all supporting evidence to provide this, a visa application can be submitted to the Department of Home Affairs
